Viele Dinge im Bereich Menschenkenntnis und Lebenserfahrungen habe ich wiedererkannt, aber sein Werdegang ist sehr interessant, weil nicht klischeehaft. Inspirierend und bildet Bewußtsein und Akzeptanz für unkonventionelle, abweichende Lebensläufe.Besonders hervorzuheben ist, wie aktuell das Buch heute noch (oder wieder!) ist.Es räumt mit einigen Faktenverzerrungen und Fehlauffassungen bzgl. Malclom X auf, manche Realitäten sind positiver, andere negativer.Seine Betonung auf offener und faktischer Selbstdarstellung erinnert an Werte bestimmter USA-Gründerväter.Das ausführliche Vorwort ist gleich zu Beginn exzellenter Lesestoff.Ein inhaltliches Detail aus dem Buch möchte ich kurz herausstreichen, weil ich mit Regelmäßigkeit immer wieder daran erinnert werde:Malcolm X bevorzugte die Einstellung der Südstaaten über der der Nordstaaten. Er sagte, die Südstaatler machen wenigsten keinen Hehl aus ihrer Aversion für seine Rasse, aber die Nordstaatler lächeln und schütteln seine Hand, während sie hinterrücks einen Dolchstoß planen.Der Wiedererkennungswert ist erstaunlich, oder? - Aber auch deprimierend, wenn man die Biographie liest und bedenkt, wie weit die Geschehnisse zurückliegen und wie wenig sich geändert hat. Ich tröste mich dann immer mit dem Gedanken, daß die Situation ohne Einflüsse guter Menschen noch schlechter aussähe.Malcolm X war definitv ein sehr wandlungsbegabter und lernfähiger Mensch.
Der YouTuber Casey Neistat hatte dieses Buch in einem seiner vlogs empfohlen.Es enthält definitiv viele Passagen, die zum Nachdenken anregen.Man interessiert sich auch nachher mehr für Malcolm X's Geschichte – vorher kannte ich nur seinen Namen.Klar, von seinen Aussagen über Allah und den Islam muss man manchmal Abstand nehmen.Doch obwohl das Buch in den Sechzigern erschienen ist, ist vieles noch wahr und lässt sich auch 2015 noch wiedererkennen.Und man kann dadurch natürlich noch sein Englisch aufbessern, obwohl (oder gerade weil) viel Slang enthalten ist.
Ein sehr faszinierendes Buch über einen außergewöhnlichen Menschen. Der Gegenspieler zu Martin Luther King und seiner Bewegung. Sowohl in ihren Zielen als auch die Mittel diese zu erreichen.

Ein beeindruckendes Werk über einen beeindruckenden Mann. Ich kann das Buch nur weiterempfehlen. Ich habe bereits mehrere Kurzfassungen gelesen, aber das Original ist nicht zu toppen

Was ist noch zu sagen? Dieser Mensch war authentisch, intelligent, klug, im richtigen Moment aggressiv genug, um etwas in Bewegung zu setzen und reflektierte dabei aus dem Herzen. Und er blieb intellektuell niemals stehen! Nur eine Anmerkung: Dieser Mensch wäre ein großer Staatsmann gewesen!
